Pretty Little Liars

Pretty little liars is an american serie created by Marlene King and could be watched on TV in june 2010. It tackles the issue of the book of  Sara Shepard entitled “Pretty Little Liars”.

The main actors are Troian Bellisario as Spencer Hastings, Ashley Benson as Hanna Marin, Lucy Hale as Aria Montgomery and Shay Michell as Emily Fields. All the girls have between 16 and 17 years old. The story takes place in Rosewood, USA.

The story begins with the missing of Alison Di Laurentis , one of  Spencer’s, Hanna’s, Aria’s and Emily’s best friend then the story starts again one year later because the quartet of best friends was separate because of the disappearance of Alison (Aria have moved in Island with his parents). When all the girls were together the police found Alison’s body. The four girls started to receive messages from an unknown person. Throughout the hisory they try to discover the identity of this person nicknamed A, because he makes his girls live’s look like hell .

The serie and the episodes are based on suspense, with A, who is always preparing something to make their lives unbearable.

There is actually 2 seasons with 22 episodes in the first and 25 in the second.

We discover A’s identity in the 25^th episode, A is a person who is always here with the four girls, always around them without they know it.

They leave clues throughout of the episodes, so you have to keep an eye on, and be attentive. And at the end we discover that A isn’t one person but many.

How I met your mother

How i met your mother is a serie,

 The story takes place in New York,

The characters are Ted Mosby, Marshall Eriksen, Lily Aldrin, Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson,

The serie begins in 2030 when Ted Mosby tells about his children about  how he met their mother,

He remembers his best souvenirs,

He lived with his best friend Marshall,

When Marshall married  Lily, Ted wanted to know how he'll find  his wife,

He met Robin in his favorite pub, the Mac Laren pub,where his friend Barney helps him to meet some girls,

Ted had a date with Robin, and he thinks she's her future wife,

But Ted did the mistake to tell Robin that  he loved her right from their first date,

This serie is very funny because , the characters lived a lot of adventures and in this serie there is a lot of fun,

Ted Mosby is an architect, he’s very intelligent and doesn’t to do things.

Marshall Eriksen is a lawyer. He’s very endearing and always here to help ande serve his friends.

Lily Aldrin, is teacher and she loves to paint. She’s very funny.

Robin Scherbatsky is a journalist. She’s Canadian. Robin is quite funny and endearing.

Barney is the funniest characters in the serie. He loves going to the Mac Laren pub, and he loves the womans.

He has severals favorites sentences like: « Nothing and everything is possimpossible » « It's gonna be legen... wait for it... dary !

Legendary! »  « Suit up! »  « Daddy's home »  « challenge accepted!».

GORILLAZ 

Gorillaz is an actual English electro rock band.

The band was founded by Damon Albarn. He is an English singer. Damon Albarn created two bands before Gorillaz: Blur a band as famous and as acclaimed as Oasis and the second band he created is The good, the Bad, and the Queen.

Unlike the other bands Gorillaz is more than just a music group it is also a project.

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett started to work on Gorillaz in 1997.
Damon is in charge of the music composition and Jamie of the illustrations and characters design, in fact Jamie Hewlett is best-known in the comic industry with his character Tank Girl.

Gorillaz is the first fictional band in all history of music because all the different members of the band are cartoon characters.

The group discography has 8 albums : Gorillaz, G-Sides, Laika Come Home, Demon Days, D-sides, Plastic Beach, The Fall.

And among them many featuring. For example in the Plastic Beach album there are guests stars like Snoop Dogg, De La Soul, Little Dragon, Bobby Womack.

Whats is interesting in the history of Gorillaz is that they spent 4 years to create and prepare the first album and after that they had success for every new album they have made.

I)              1997-2001 : a virtual story to create a myth.

The project of a virtual band called Gorillaz started in 1997. Damon Albarn with his roommate Jamie Hewlett started recording the very first album of the band which is also called Gorillaz.

At that time, everyone knows about this « cartoon » band but nothing about its creators. Until 2005 the identity of the leader, Damon Albarn, is a rumor.

And know we understand the role of Jamie Hewlett in the project, his illustrations, characters design and story makes it easier for them to keep their identity a secret. The two friends created a virtual band with virtual story and therefore they created a whole myth behind the group Gorillaz. 

I’m going to introduce you to the members of this virtual band :

-         2D is the main singer and plays also the keyboard,

-          Murdoc Nicalls plays bass,

-         Noodle plays the guitar with Mike her monkey

-         Russel Hobbs plays the drums.

We learn about each fake member through the music videos. For their first single “Clint Eastwood” every character is presented to us in a cemetery, we now know their names and faces. Every music video tells us a story on the fictional band like in a cartoon. This whole production is important because they make the band look real to the public.

Their first success is luckily their first album. Its name is Gorillaz and got no less than 20 awards. After that the band is launched and quickly conquered the world.

II)          2001-2011 : THE SECRET BAND OF DAMON ALBARN

It is only during their last tour in 2011 that they showed their real faces.
Before that they played behind a curtain, even if the public was a little bit disappointed to only see their shadows. Sometimes during their live shows instead of a curtain they decided to show the fictional characters with holograms on stage. In 2005 the rumor became true. Everybody now knows that Damon Albarn is behind the Gorillaz’s project. But he never works alone : the other specialty of Gorillaz is to mix a lot of different types of music : for example traditional Turkish music with electronic music in the album Plastic Beach. And also what makes Gorillaz so special is that there is many guest stars in their albums. Like Snoop Dog a famous producer and rapper, Little Dragon a swedish singer and Bobby Womack an old soul man. In their last music video, named “Stylo”, we even see the famous actor Bruce Willis.

2011 was a great year for Gorillaz : they had a world tour uncovered for the first time. 2011 is probably also the last year for their musical career. Because like Damon Albarn said, it is very difficult to have every member of the band together at the same time. So what makes Gorillaz’s specialty is also what may make them split.

John F. Kennedy

John F. Kennedy was the 35^th president of the USA. He was born on May 29, 1917 in Brooklyne, Massachusetts. He was the second son of nine children.

Studies of John F. Kennedy

John Kennedy studied at Princeton University for a year but he had to leave his College because of an accident. Then when he felt better he joined Harward University and began studying government and international affairs.

Later, Kennedy wrote a thesis paper where he explained why Britain wasn't ready for WW II. This thesis became a best seller book called “Why England Slept”.

Kennedy got graduated from Harward in 1940. After that he went on the Standford University Business School , but he dropped out after only 6 months.

J.F.K became a senator in 1947. Kennedy was one of the people that voted for most of the social welfare programs of president Truman.

Kennedy was liked in the House of Representatives and was reelected two more times after 1946. The first time was in 1948 and the second time was in 1950.

Then 10 years later he ran for presidential elections and won that. So he became the 35th president, he was also the second youngest president to be elected.

J.F.K was inaugurated on January 20, 1961. John F. Kennedy was assassinated by an unknown person on 

November 22, 1963.

 ( He was killed while he was still president.) He was shot to death while driving through the streets of Dallas.

 John F. Kennedy was later found that he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, but some people think 

this isn't true. 

Some people think Oswald didn't act alone and many other theories. 

John F. Kennedy was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

The whole world attended the funeral, over 90 representatives from different countries attended the funeral 

on November 25. 

His wife, Jackie Kennedy, lit an eternal flame to burn over the president's grave.

 AUSTRALIA

Geography of Australia :

Australia is situated in the southern hemisphere,between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Its superficy represents 7 682 300 km2 (= 2.97 million square miles) .

The country is divided  into 6 parts which are Western Australia, northern territory, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, A.T.C., and Tasmania, but is especially well-known for its "Outback", a vast and arid area of Australia.

History of Australia :

The first inhabitants of Australia were the Aborigines. They were hunt in 1770.

In 1770, James Cook is the first European who conquers Australia. He accosts with a lot of convicts.

Animals of Australia :

In Australia, there are a lot of marsupials, crocodiles, reptiles (snakes, lizards, goannas…), a lot of strange birds (gang-gang cockatoos, martin sinne, parakeet, emus…), and special mammals (kangaroos, koalas, dingos, spotted quolls…).

Climate and flora of Australia :

As the country is large than a lot of different climates:

-mild climate

-tropical climate

-hot climate.

So in Australia, there are over 24,000 species of plants. Near the rain-forest, there are mostly fruit trees, while in desert regions there are bushes.
